Hi everyone! Here to bring a bad news, I believe all students in 4o2 have been informed that our dearest form teacher, mr leow, who have been with us for 2years, undergoing thick and thin through our growing period, looking us grow from a childish mind slowly to a matured young adult, from a helpless kid to a young adult who makes our own choices in life. Giving us advices on certain things in life, and sharing past experience with us. At times, we might be rebellious and bear grudges against him for complaining our bad behaviour to parents. And he would always claim that ‘its for our own good’. Judging things from different angle we may gain different perspective, we might bear grudges against him, but as time goes well, we slowly acknowledge the fact that its for our own good.
Since this year is our graduating class, our memories with these teachers will be deeply engrave in each and every one of our heart. Through sec3 sec4 life, our class may face many different types of teachers, from hate-at-the-first-sight to chitchatting under the sun, confide private things and many more things.
When we were in sec3, first, we have ms chua; whose is a wonderful teacher to us. On the first day of school, we knew we have a new co-form teacher and when we first met her, I think her first impression to us is hate-at-the-first-sight because we were almost picked on everything, which includes uniform, socks and hair. As time goes by, we got to know more about her, she is more like a friend to us instead of a teacher, though we might take her for granted and be a little crazy with her, making the extraordinary huge noise pollution in her geography class, but deep down, we do respect her. There’s a phrase that says: ‘ Happy times are always short’. After getting along for ½ year, we were informed that she is leaving, hoping to have a change in her occupation. Upon hearing it, there nothing we can do except wishing her for the best and wave goodbye to her in tears.
After that, mr malek went for courses and ms yong came and teach us math. She is patient and don’t really throw temper at us even though we talk during her lesson and take her for granted. She always hopes that we could pass our math test, but there will always be a number of people that failed. However, she is not disappointed and continues to guide us towards improvement. She organizes remedial for us and specially prepared for us sweets, as she knew that we are bored. Soon, she left and furthers her studies. Once again, we were helpless and wish her good luck in her studies.
Next, we have ms goh, she might not be a new teacher and we might not know her at all. But we were lucky to have her as our chemistry teacher, her teaching techniques is totally different from many other teacher, and all we can say is that her teaching techniques indeed make things much more easier for us to understand. Each and every class have different students, some may understand things quicker than others. The same thing goes for our class, there are also a small minority of students who do not understand what she is teaching at times and she would always repeatedly emphasizing on the key points till the whole class understand. She would always organize remedial for us during the June holiday even if we were not the graduating classes. It might be tiring to attend remedial, but she have never complaint about coming back to school every single day regardless staying back till late hours in the night. Just before the start of 2008, we were informed that she is leaving the science department, and focus on just mathematics department, and our class will have a new chemistry teacher. Once again, there nothing we can do except feeling regretted deep down and hopefully that the new chemistry teacher can also make complicated things to easier things for us to absorb.
This year, after ms chua left, here’s come our new co-form teacher cum new chemistry teacher, Ms koh. Due to our class’s spirit, her first impression to us is also hate-at-the-first-sight. She will pick on our hair and ear stick. She teaches us chemistry, however, she teaches in a very different way from Ms goh. We had a hard time to adapt her method of teaching. But as time goes by, we started to get along with her and started to know more about her. She tried to think of ways to allow our class to learn more and not to get too bored. Therefore, she began to ask our class to start our own small study group and meet her up personally so that we could have more chances to ask questions that we are unsure of. She may be temperamental at times and scolded us as if we had made a grave mistake. Though we may have quite a number of practical, but we may get confused at times and do things wrongly. Upon spotting a mistake made by us, she will get very pissed off and vent her anger on us. To us, we might think she is very unreasonable, but as time goes by, we acknowledge the fact that we have been making the same unpardonable mistake repeatedly. And now, she is going to leave us to continue her studies, hence representing the whole class and wish her good luck for her life ahead.
Ps: A very big thankyou for tolerating our childish attitude during practical (but you know, we will get very nervous at times and do things without control)
To our dearest 2years consecutive form-teacher, Mr leow: Though we do not know what the reason behind that out of a sudden you are leaving the school, but to everyone, the news was too sudden and we shall assume that it’s a secret and we respect you and will not probe about it. We just want you to know that we really respect you though at times you might be temperamental, but we understand that every occupation have its own difficulties. Anyway, after getting along with you for 2years, we have slowly treated you more like a friend to a teacher; we call you by your name instead of addressing you ‘mr leow’. But deep down, we respect you. As a physic teacher, sometimes you might be too fast in a topic and always laugh at our ridiculous answers and question asked. Now, you are leaving us, leaving 4o2, leaving ping yi secondary school. Anyway, though you are leaving us but our class-tee is still valid, wear it often! A big thankyou for accompanying us down the road for 1 ½ years, enduing our childish mindset throughout. We sincerely wish that whatever you decide to do in the future, you would be happy with it. Good luck!
